NCP, Congress may join hands for ZP elections in Thane

Thane, Feb 14 (UNI) After suffering reverses in the recent municipal corporation elections, the NCP and Congress may join hands to contest the March 11 zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections in this district together.

The Congress, NCP and the other parties including the Vasai Vikas Aghadi, led by Hitendra Thakur, CPM and the Kunbi Sena could join hands to contest the elections, according to sources here.

Meanwhile, district collector S S Zende drew the lots for the reservations of the various ZP blocks out of the total 68 blocks.

Of the total 68 blocks, a total of 23 seats are reserved for women.
