MP declares one-day state mourning

Bhopal, Feb 14 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has declared one-day state mourning today in view of the death of former chief minister Shyama Charan Shukla, who died in Raipur early this morning.

''No official entertainment programmes will be held during the day'', an official spokesman said.

''As a mark of respect to the departed leader, it has been decided that state mourning shall be observed throughout the state today. During the period of mourning, the national flag will be flown at half mast throughout the state where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment'', the Chief Secretary said in a message to all district collectors.
