Mild tremor shook Meghalaya
Shillong, Feb 14 (UNI) An earthquake of light intensity shook Meghalaya's capital Shillong today.
The tremor, measuring its magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale, occurred at 1715 hrs(IST) with its epicentre, about 80 km from Central Seismological Observatory(CSO) at Upper Shillong, CSO officials told UNI here today.
The officials said there was no report of any loss of lives and property.
The North-Eastern part of India, which falls in the highest Seismic Zone in the country, is prone to earthquakes.
