Lankans sentenced in drugs case
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 14 (UNI) A Local court sentenced three Sri Lankan nationals, including a woman, to rigorous imprisonment in a narcotics case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Thajudeen Koya awarded the punishment yesterday to the Sri Lankans after they were found guilty of possessing heroin in a case registered in 2005.
The Narcotics Control Bureau had arrested Subhash, Kuberan and Santhi from the Thiruvananthapuram bus stand here with three packets of heroin in their possession.
Investigation found that the drugs were meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka.
The three were also asked to pay a fine of Rs one lakh each.
