High-level Japanese delegation visits Andaman

Port Blair, Feb 14 (UNI) A high-level delegation from Japan visited the Andaman &Nicobar Islands to discuss on tourism, high value agriculture, fisheries, clean technologies and integrated model of economic development in the islands, official said today.

''The delegation was led by Mr Hiroshi Kumagai, Minister of International Trade&Industry&Chief Cabinet Secretary of the Japanese Government,'' Incharge of Information and Public Relation Department in Andamans V K Mishra said.

He was accompanied by Secretary General of NIPPON Saisei Forum and Board Members of IBS Securities, Tokyo, Eisaku Takahashi, Mr Mishra said.

The visit was co-ordinated by Chairman of the India Centre Foundation Vibhav Kant Upadhyay. They called on Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration Shumsher K Sheriff and the President of Andaman Chamber of Commerce Mohd Jadwet today.

''Views were exchanged on a variety of subjects including the role of tourism,'' Mishra said.
