Fans urge Ambareesh to withdraw resignation

Mandya, Karnataka, Feb 14 (UNI) Congress party workers and fans of film star turned politician M H Ambareesh, who tendered his resignation as Union Minister in protest against the final verdict of Cauvery Tribunal, today reacted angrily and urged him to withdraw the resignation.

The fans and the party workers blocked the Mysore-Bangalore state highway for some time in Maddur town in this district and said there was no need for him to resign over the issue.

Meanwhile, G Made Gowda, President of Cauvery Hitarakshana Horata Samiti, which is spearheading the agitation against on the water sharing issue, termed the resignation of Mr Ambareesh as a hasty decision and said that the film star should continue as a minister and fight for the water rights of the state.

Many Congress leaders in the district endorsed the views of Mr Gowda and urged the three-time MP from this constituency, to withdraw his resignation and participate actively in the agitation.
