EC orders repoll in one booth in Punjab

Gurdaspur, Feb 14 (UNI) The Election Commission has ordered a repoll tomorrow rpt tomorrow in booth number 72 of the Qadian assembly constituency of this district in Punjab.

According to official reports, the repoll has been ordered on the complaint of Congress candidate Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa.

In his complaint to the Election Observer, Mr Bajwa had alleged that a presiding officer at the booth was 'helping' the opposition candidate.

On the report of the Observer, the EC ordered the repoll. The booth falls in Bal village of the constituency.

The Qadian assembly segment is a part of the Amritsar Parliamentary constituency, which went to the polls yesterday along with 115 of the 117 assembly seats.
