Dept of Posts launches 'Stamp Popularity Poll'

Mumbai, February 14: The Department of Posts has launched the 'Stamp Popularity Poll' to select the most popular stamp among the commemorative or special postage stamps issued in 2004 and 2005.

The poll, launched on Monday, is for all and will be open till February 28 this year. Entry forms and publicity brochures can be procured from all Head Post Offices and Philatelic bureaux at Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur, Panaji and Pune, a Press Information Bureau release here yesterday said.

Complete entries may be submitted to the nearest Philatelic Bureau. The last date for receipt of entries is February 28.

The participant can win a collector's pack containing beautiful India postage Stamps, if his/her choice for the best three stamps matches the choice of majority. However, if more than 100 contestants select the three most popular stamps correctly, 100 entries will be selected by way of lots. Three special prizes will be selected from the wining entries through lots. The prizes will be of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
