New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) The BJP today welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court disqualifying 13 BSP MLAs who had defected to the Samajwadi Party in August 27, 2003 in Uttar Pradesh and demanded imposition of President's Rule in the state.

Talking to mediapersons, BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy also demanded that following the apex court's decision on the breakaway BSP group, the ruling Samajwadi Party should also own responsibility and quit.

Mr Rudy said that a BJP delegation had met President APJ Abdul Kalam sometime ago and urged him to hold assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh only under President's Rule as the law and order there was very fluid.

Now that the Supreme Court had disqualified the 13 BSP MLAS who had joined SP, the Centre had to decide what role it should play in view of the verdict, he said.
