BEML pays Rs 9cr dividend to govt
New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) Public-sector Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) today paid nine crore rupees as dividend to the government, for 61.2 per cent stake it holds in the company.
The dividend cheque was presented to Defence Minister A K Antony by BEML's Chairman and Managing Director V R S Natarajan.
The company had declared 40 per cent interim dividend for the current fiscal, a company statement said.
BEML, a public sector company under the Defence Ministry, is engaged in the manufacture and supply of heavy earth moving equipments for the mining and construction sector, heavy duty trucks for defence forces and rail and metro coaches to the Indian Railways.
It is set achieve a sales target of Rs 2,600 crore in this fiscal.
