6 killed as jeep hits bus in TN

Salem , Tamil Nadu, (UNI) Six people, including a former MLA, were killed and another seriously injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a state-owned bus at Annaimedu near Taramangalam of this district today.

The deceased were identified as Former MLA Sundarambal and her husband and AIADMK Mettur Town Secretary Marappan, S K Subramaniam, Shanmugham, Ramaswamy and Dhanakody, police said.

The condition of Raman, who was seriously injured, was stated to be critical.

The jeep was on its way here from Mettur when the accident occurred.
