50 Km road restored
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 14 (UNI) Vehicular traffic on about 50 Km stretch of road between Kirandul and Jagarguda in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh was restored after a gap of three years with the tribals volunteering to repair it.
About 3,000 villagers worked for five days to repair the road and restore connectivity to 15 villages, Collector K R Pisda said.
Maoist naxalites had put up obstacles at 123 places by erecting walls or digging trenches on the road. Due to naxalite terror, contractors were not ready to take up repair work.
It is proposed to concrete the road, Mr Pisda said.
