12 held in Anand for betting

Anand, Feb 14 (UNI) Police busted a cricket betting racket in the town today and arrested twelve people involved in placing bets on the ongoing ODI series between India and Sri Lanka.

In a joint operation by the local and district police, a house behind IRMA here was raided. the 12 persons were accepting bets on the matches.

Police seized 40 mobiles, 2 computers, 2 laptops, 3 TV sets, 200 cassettes and Rs 38,000 in cash.

The arrested were Rameshbhai Nandkishore Bhatia, Narendra Bhatia, Vimal Bhatia, Manoj Bhatia, Somnath Bhatia, Sanathbhai Machi, Dalsukh Thakur, Haresh Panchal, Sandeep Soni&Vinay (from Khambhatt), Manoj Shah (Petlad) and Himmatbhai Parmar (Khijalpur).
