Traffic disrupted as students block road

Puducherry, Feb 13: Traffic on the East Coast Road (ECR) was affected for about one hour as students of the Government Tagore Arts College here boycotted their classes and resorted to a road blockade to press their demand.

Demanding more bus facilities, the students came in a procession and blocked the road at ECR junction in Muthialpet, disrupting vehicular traffic.

After holding talks, police persuaded them to call off their stir and brought them to the Bharathi Park in front of the Legislative assembly.

The students dispersed after submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister's office.
