Special teams to nab MLA's assailants

Chittoor, Feb 13 (UNI) District police have appointed special teams to nab the assailants, who made an attempt on the life of former MLA C K Babu, in which three persons including his gunman, a municipal employee and an attacker himself was killed here on February 10.

Besides alerting all the police stations in the state, special teams were sent to Anantapur district for investigation, a police official said today.

According to Chittoor DSP Ravindra Reddy, the case would be solved at the earliest. He appealed to those, who had given shelter to the culprits unknowingly, to come forward and reveal their identity and cooperate with the police.

Lodges in Chittoor and other suspected places were also being searched and further details could be had only after search parties return, he said.

''The investigation is looking at all angles and we are hoping to make a breakthrough in the case soon, he added.

The assailant, who was killed in the encounter also had to be identified, he further said.
