SP to go it alone in UP assembly poll: Mulayam

Mirzapur, Feb 13 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today reiterated that his party will not enter into any pre-poll alliance in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha election.

''SP is not dependent on any political party...over the years, SP's mass base has increased. I am confident of SP's success in the assembly poll,'' Mr Yadav claimed talking to mediapersons here.

The election should have taken place by February end, but due to the unwanted pressure from the Centre and opposition, it has got delayed. Elections should take place as early as possible and I will soon talk to the Election Commission about it, the SP supremo added.

The former defence minister alleged the opposition was hatching a conspiracy to shake the pillars of the SP-led government. ''Now, even the party having no mass base like CPI(M) and others have united against the state government.'' The CM claimed so far, no poor farmer had committed suicide in UP.

Asked if the SP would give ticket to present MLAs, Mr Yadav quipped, ''wait and watch.'' Later, he announced that Ramrati Bind from Mirzapur and Pakauri Lal Kol from Robertsganj would represent SP in the parliamentary bypoll.
