Seventeen juveniles rescued from Kishanganj
Kishanganj, Feb 13 (UNI) Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB) jawans nabbed two child traffickers and rescued 17 juveniles from Dhobibhita, along Bihar-Nepal border, early today.
21st battalion SSB Commandant Sunil Kumar Chopra told newspersons here that the child traffickers were arrested by the jawans when found moving under suspicious circumstances with the 17 young boys.
The two were identified as Mazhar and Barkat Ali, the Commandant informed.
All the children were handpicked by them from Malda district in West Bengal, he added.
''We are still probing into whether the boys were handpicked to be trafficked into adjoining Nepal or for use as workforce in the brick kilns in the border villages,'' Mr Chopra said adding that interrogation was underway.
Nearly two months back, the police had rounded up two child traffickers in a similar manner and rescued a horde of 56 children from Kishanganj railway station. They were about to board a train for Lucknow when the GRP and RPF personnel on a tip-off foiled their bid and nabbed them.
