Seperate NRI cell at industries dept

Puducherry, Feb 13 (UNI) The Puducherry administration would soon open a seperate NRI cell at the industries department here,minister for industries and power V.Vaithilingam said here today.

Inaugurating the four-day fourth International Congress of the association of Indian teachers of French, he said the cell would enable the enrollment and registration of French speaking NRIs to enable them to participate in the development of the union territory in the industrial sector.

The minister said Puducherry had rich and vibrant connection and with France having made its mark in software technology,there was elaborate scope for associating NRIs residing in France and abroad to make the contribution for the development of industrial sector here. Mr.Vaithilingam said he had already mooted the idea with the Centre in this regard.

Consul General of France in Puducherry Joelle Rayet,Mr.Pierre Koest,the educational coordinator of the French embassy, New Delhi, were among others who spoke at the function highlighting the importance of the function for development of the study of French language and establishment of Franco-phone facilities.

As many as 250 delegates from all over the country and countries like France and Belgium among others are taking part in the function.
