Rs 12 lakh diamonds looted

Rajkot, Feb 13 (UNI) Six miscreants looted diamonds worth Rs 12 lakh from two employees of Amreli-based angadi (courier) firm at Lathi village in Amreli district.

The incident occurred last night at around 2200 hrs, police said.

The two employees - Vishnubhai Patel and Pravinbhai Patel - of Madhavlal Maganlal Angadia, were looted of the diamonds at knife point by unidentified persons in a private bus bound for Surat.

The six persons - four, who boarded the bus at Malavia-Piparia village and their other two accomplices already in the bus, looted the angadia employees, sources said.

Vishnubhai Patel sustained minor injuries in the scuffle.

The robbers managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Police have sounded an alert in the State, sources added.

UNI
