Jaipur, Feb 13 (UNI) Heavy rains and hailstorm in north-eastern parts of Rajasthan have damaged crops in the region, forcing the district administration to conduct an analysis of the losses.

According to weather office, Sriganganagar recorded 21.2 mm rainfall, Bharatpur 13 mm, Dholpur 0.8 mm, Jaipur 1.3 mm, Pilani 6.5 mm, Dabok 0.6 mm and Churu 4.1 mm.

Kharif crops have suffered heavy losses due to unseasonal rains, mainly because of western disturbance.

Sriganganagar witnessed very heavy rains for half an hour yesterday, starting with hailstorm, which covered roofs of houses and cars.

Heavy rains in the north-western parts of state have damaged gram crops. However, the rains have proved a blessing for some crops in non-irrigated areas.

There has not been much change in the minimum temperatures due to rains in the past few days. The state capital is cold and quite pleasant with sun and cloud cover playing hide and seek.

Churu remained the coldest in the state today , recording 8 degree Celsius. Pilani mapped 10 degree Celsius, Jaipur 11, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur 12, Jodhpur and Ajmer 13, Barmer 14, Bundi 15 and Rawatbhata 17 degree Celsius.
