Nobel laureate John Nash calls on Kalam
New Delhi, Feb 13 (UNI) Nobel laureate John Forbes Nash Jr called on President A P J Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
The legendary mathematician, who won the Nobel for his pioneering game theory and differential geometry in 1994, had a 45-minute private meeting with Dr Kalam, a rocket scientist, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.
Mr Nash, whose struggles with schizophrenia provided the story for Oscar Award winning film ''A Beautiful Mind,'' was accompanied by his wife Alicia Larde and son, Dr J C M Nash.
The 79-year-old will be in India for about a week.
Tomorrow, Mr Nash will speak on ''Global Games and Globalisation'' at the first Nobel Lecture organised by the public diplomacy division of the External Affairs Ministry.
He is also expected to call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tomorrow.
