Mixed trend seen in metal exchange

Mumbai, Feb 13 (UNI) A mixed trend was seen in the metal exchange today even as the London Metal Exchange was slightly up, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the Ferrous category, copper heavy and copper utensils declined by Rs 100 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively on lack of fresh demand. But aluminium utensils went up by Rs 100 per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In the Non-ferrous category, copper wire bars drifted lower by Rs 300 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure. But aluminium ingots hiked by Rs 100 per quintal on improved demand.

Nickel cathode fell by Rs ten per kg on thin buying support.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 29,100, Copper utensils - Rs 27,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 23,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,600.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 32,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,300, Zinc slab Rs 17,800, Lead ingots - Rs 7,500, Tin slab - Rs 605 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,850 (per kg).
