New Delhi, Feb 13 (UNI) Honda Motor Company (HMC) today launched the latest technological innovations in producing environment-friendly fuels such as fuel cell car and advanced mobility at the 17th International Engineering and Technology Fair (IETF) 2007, held here.

The theme of the Honda booth at this year's IETF is 'On the Leading Edge'.

Honda was the first company to showcase fuel cell and hybrid technologies at the Auto Expo last year in the country.

''As a responsible organisation, we have a commitment to our future generations and we will use our technological edge to conserve energy and protect the environment by developing alternate resources of energy,'' HMC Operating Officer (South West Asia) M Takedagawa said.

In May 2006, Honda announced global CO2 reduction goals - both for its products and production activities.

The displays this time are -- the latest generation fuel-cell car, the 'FCX Concept', which is powered by a fuel-cell stack and releases only water vapour as exhaust; the Bio-ethanol technology, which produces automobile fuel from agricultural waste and also acts as a counter-measure to global warming; and the ultra-thin, user-friendly Solar panel which can be mass produced.
