Five Mumbaikars arrested for cheating banks

Hubli, Feb 13 (UNI) Police here have arrested five people, including two women, on the charge of cheating two local banks to the tune of Rs 14 lakh.

Police said today that all the arrested, hailing from Mumbai, used to draw money from banks at different places in bogus names.

Their modus operandi was to present insurance cheques to these banks after altering the numbers.

The arrested have been identified as Satyamma Pilley, Armin Vadiya, Vasant, Makwan and Vijay Hiremath, police added.

UNI
