Bird flu workshop
Bhopal, Feb 13 (UNI) The city-based High Security Animal Disease Laboratory Joint Director H K Pradhan today emphasised that collection of samples and other processes must be of high-quality if avian influenza is to be thoroughly probed.
''Biosafety and biosecurity are imperative. Last year, 26 countries were affected by bird flu and the 2007 figure is 10, thus far. The latter include Pakistan, the United Kingdom and Russia,'' he said here at the inauguration of a three-day training laboratory workshop on the subject.
The event was inaugurated by state Principal Secretary (Animal Husbandry) Ranjana Chaudhary.
