Ambika casts vote, predicts victory for Congress
Hoshiarpur, Feb 13 (UNI) Union Minister for Tourism Ambika Soni today claimed that there was no anti-incumbency factor against Congress government in Punjab and exuded confidence that the party would return to power.
She was talking to mediapersons after casting her vote at Amin Chand Senior Secondary School, Bajwara Kalan, a suburban village of Hoshiarpur town.
She claimed that skyrocketing prices of essential goods were no issue in this election as it was a countrywide phenomenon and the UPA government was taking effective steps to bring down the prices.
Replying to another question, she said that there was no dissident in Punjab Congress. ''Whatevere discontent was brewing among some leaders who had been denied party tickets, had been pacified later,'' she claimed.
However, the AICC had appointed observers in each district and in case report of anyone opposing the official party nominees were received, strict action would be taken, Ms Soni asserted.
