Alstom bags hydro projects worth Rs 750 cr

New Delhi, Feb 13: Alstom Projects India Ltd today announced it has bagged three new orders worth Rs 750 crore for hydro projects.

The orders for 4x60 MW URI Stage-II and 3x77 MW Chamera Stage-III have been awarded to the company by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) while the order for 2x55 MW Chuzachen has been secured from Gati infrastructure, a unit of Gati Group.

The scope of work includes turnkey execution of electro-mechanical lot comprising hydroturbines, generators and auxiliaries. Alstom will execute works worth Rs 600 crore at the hydro unit based in Vadodara, the company said in a statement.

Mr Frederic Lalanne, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, of the company said, ''The hydro facility at Vadodara is one of the three large hydro equipment manufacturing hubs in the group along with China and Brazil. This factory is fully geared to meet the needs of domestic and international projects.''
