8 killed as bus plunges into canal

Agra, Feb 13 (UNI) At least 8 passengers were killed when a city bus plunged into Vichpuri Canal in Jagdishpur area here today.

Police Superintendent S S Baghel said the bus, carrying about 25 passengers, was en route to Fatehpur Sikri when it plunged into the canal at Pathauli village.

The accident occurred around 1300 hrs, he informed.

So far, 8 bodies have been fished out. They are yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, the 12 injured had been admitted to hospital and rescue operations were on to trace the missing passengers.
