2 held with gun spares for LTTE

Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Feb 13 (UNI) Two people were arrested with spare parts for revolvers allegedly used by the banned LTTE, off the coast here last night.

Police said Mariganesh (27) and Murugesan (24) were carrying the spare parts in three small bags on a country boat when the Navy spotted them.

The youths told the police they were instructed by one Ravi, staying at the Mandapam Refugee Camp, to hand over the bags to the LTTE cadre in the midseas.

Ravi reportedly paid the duo Rs 10,000 for the task.

Intelligence agencies and the Q Branch Police were holding further investigations.
