Wanted Haryana drug trafficker nabbed
Fatehabad, Feb 12 (UNI) Police today nabbed a fugitive drug trafficker while he was returning to his village here after delivering a consignment of poppy husk in neighbouring Punjab.
The accused Sher Singh, alias Sheria was wanted by police in four cases of drug trafficking and one case of attempted murder.
The police, which intercepted him on way to Agroha on a tip-off, recovered an illicit .315 bore pistol, four live cartilages and the luxury car in which he was traveling and Rs 37,800 in cash from his possession, Additional Superintendent of Police S K Gupta told mediapersons here.
On interrogation, Sheria told the police that he was coming from Punjab after selling 3 bags of poppy husk, the ASP said adding that the police has registered a case under sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against him.
He is absconding in many cases already registered against him of drug trafficking and one of opening fire on the police, Mr Gupta said.
