Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaroh from Feb 16

Satna, MP, Feb 12 (UNI) A three-day Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaroh to be held in memory of Ustad Allauddin Khan -- a legendary classical musician -- will begin at his workplace Maihar in this district on Friday.

The programme -- being organised by the Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Academy in cooperation with the Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad, district administration and people -- will witness performances by various artists apart from Mumbai-based Sarangi exponent and singer Sultan Khan.

Jugalbandi and Talvadya Kachari will be the centre of attraction in the programme.

Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaroh's organising secretary Dr K C Jain said the programme will be inaugurated by Animal Husbandry Minister Ramakant Tiwari.

Urban Administration and Development Jayant Malaiya, MP Ganesh Singh and MLA Narayan Prasad Tiwari will grace the occasion as special guests.

The programme will begin every day with Maihar Vadyavrind at 2000 hrs.

The event will culminate in a jugalbandi in which Kushaldas (Sitar) and Saranjan (Sarod) will perform.
