UP govt announces policy for rabi crop

Lucknow, Feb 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today announced the policy for the current rabi crop with a target to procure 15 lakh metric tonnes.

The policy was approved by the state cabinet here.

The procurement would be for the Public Distribution System (PDS), which will start from April 1 and continue till June 15.

All arrangements at the purchase centres would be completed by March 20 and farmers upto Rs 20,000 sale would be given bearer cheques.
