Three hoax calls in a day

Surat, Feb 12 (UNI) The district and sessions Court, a school and a nationalised bank received hoax bomb threats here today.

In the first incident, Bulkha Bhavan school in Vyara, a taluka town 75 kilometers from here, received a call this morning informing them about a bomb in a school building, police sources said. The principal informed the police. But a thorough search yielded nothing.

There were two more such calls in the city later during the day.

One was at Salabatpura branch of Syndicate bank and the other at the district and sessions court building here. the court building was evacuated immediately.

The bomb disposal squad was despatched promptly to all the three places. However, no bombs were found in the respective premises and the calls turned out to be hoax.

There have been a spate of hoax calls in the city in the past one month and the police are yet to trace the pranksters, sources added.
