UFBU calls for three day bank strike from Mar 28

Jaipur, Feb 12: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has given a call for a three-day bank strike from March 28-30 along with a call for an indefinite stir from on May 3 onwards.

The bank employees are agitating for an alternative pension scheme, job for dependents of dead employees and against bank work being delegated to other agencies.

UFBU regional coordinator Mahesh Mishra said in a statement that a protest would be held outside the Parliament on March 12. The decision for the stir was taken by the forum in Mumbai yesterday.

Mr Mishra said although banks have gone on strike on July 28, October 27 and December 14 last year against these demands, but the government has not taken any decision in this regard.
