Mumbai, Feb 12 (UNI) Three police constables, attached to Nirmal Nagar Police station at Bandra, have been arrested by sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a Railway ticket booking agent.

The trio was arrested yesterday after the ACB officials caught one of them accepting 'hafta' (bribe) from the complainant at his Bandra office.

On February 3, the accused Kundhan Ghadge, Pravin Rane and Ansar Patel - had demanded Rs 500 as monthly 'hafta' from the complainant which he refused. They then began harassing him for refusing to comply with their demands.

Fed up of constant harassment, the complainant recorded his conversation with the accused on a digital camera. He handed it over to ACB officials at Worli, who laid a trap.

Ghadge was arrested while accepting the bribe while his accomplices were nabbed from the Nirmal Nagar wireless van on the basis of information provided by the complainant.

The trio was today produced before Additional Sessions Judge S S Joshi, who remanded them to police custody till February 17.
