Statue of Uthiravelu shortly: CM

Puducherry, Feb12 (UNI) The Puducherry administration would soon errect a statue of the slain legislator P Uthiravelu, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said here last night.

He was speaking at a function after unveiling the statue of M A Shanmugham, a former minister of Puducherry, at Marappalam near here. The Chief Minister also paid tributes to Mr Shanmugham.

Speaker R Radhakrishnan, DMK convenor R V Janakiraman and secretary (Information) Anbarasu were among others who participated in the function.
