'Saamna' restrained from publishing defamatory articles against Rane
Mumbai, Feb 12 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today restrained Shiv Sena mouthpiece ''Saamana'' from publishig defamatory articles against State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane.
Justice D K Desmukh passed the order after Mr Rane's counsel Satish Mane-Shinde told the court that despite repeated directions, ''Saamna'' was continuing to publish such defamatory articles.
Justice Deshmukh adjourned further hearing into the petition till March 23 after Sena's counsel sought time to file a reply.
It may be recalled that Mr Rane had filed a petition, claiming Rs 25 crore in damages from Saamna, for allegedly publishing defamatory articles against him.
Mr Rane had earlier contended before the court that ever since he had quit the Shiv Sena, ''Saamna'' had started publishing defamatory articles to tarnish his image.
UNI
