R Dadhakrishnan assumes charge as Anna University VC
Coimbatore, Feb 12 (UNI) Dr R Radhakrishnan today assumed charge as Vice Chancellor for Anna University, Coimbatore.
Talking to reporters, after assuming the charges, he said the state government had announced two more Universies named after the DMK leader C N Annadurai besides the existing Chennai varsity, one at Trichy and other at Coimbatore recently. This Anna Varsity would have temporary administrative office at Government College of Technology (GCT) campus here.
He said this university would control 59 engineering colleges including three government colleges in Salem, Burgur Krishnagiri District and Coimbatore. He said all the districts including Kovai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Nilgiris, Karur, Dindigul and Theni would come under this university.
Stating that the university had given independent charge to control these colleges, he said new syllabus would be framed and it would start from the academic year 2007-08. The varsity had decided to provide tips to the students to face campus interviews.
