Ujjain, MP, Feb 12 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi will record her statement before a local court tomorrow in a case related to murder of Madhav College Professor H S Sabharwal in an attack by students irked over the postponement of students union election on August 26, 2006.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had described the incident as accident. In this matter, Prof Sabharwal's son Himanshu Sabharwal had filed a petition in the court, which admitted it for consideration.

Mr Himanshu's counsel Kailash Nagar said several people had recorded their statements in this regard. Ms Devi will be present in the court tomorrow to record her statement. Some mediapersons will also record their statements.

Ms Devi was scheduled to record her statement on January 20 but could not come because of illness.

The state government had entrusted the investigation into Prof Sabharwal's murder to the CID, which had name six ABVP workers -- including the then ABVP President Shashiranjan Akela and the then secretary Vimal Tomar -- as main accused. At present, the accused are in judicial custody in Ujjain's central jail.
