Political parties responsible for Muslims' plight: Morcha
Lucknow, Feb 12 (UNI) The All India United Muslim Morcha today held political parties responsible for the minority community's plight.
''Muslims have always been the ''target'' of some political parties....Politicians are hungry for power. They don't have any thing to do with our sentiments. They have always used Muslims as a ladder to attain power,'' Morcha state president Dr M A Siddiqui alleged while addressing a news conference in Rae Bareli.
''Eighty per cent Muslims of the country are living in poor condition and if anyone who is responsible for all thier plight they are the politicians,'' Mr Siddiqui alleged.
Supporting the Sachar Committee Report on minorities, Dr Siddiqui said the report has talked about the plight of the Muslims and suggested ways of improving their condition.
''Uttar Pradesh government has already sent the proposal to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre and if it is really concerned about improving the minority's condition, it should stop the process of giving reservation on a caste basis,'' he added.
