Paharias demonstrate for separate "Ang Pradesh"

Dumka, Feb 12 (UNI) The Paharias, a primitive tribe of Jharkhand, from all over Santhal Parganas today took out a procession in support of their 27-fold demands including formation of ''Ang Pradesh'' by combinning the areas of Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand and Bhagalpur of Bihar.

The procession, organised under the ageis of 'Adim Janjati Jagriti and Vikas Samiti' sat down in a dharna near the commissioner's office.

A memorandum addressing the President of India was also submitted to the Santhal Pargana Commissioner by the president of the organisation Kali Charan Dehri.

The 27-fold memorandum also contained the demands including reconstitution of Damin-e-koh Paharia Autonomous Council, reservation to the primitive tribe in Judiciary, appointment of Paharia male and female in government jobs and formation of Paharia Battalion.
