Mathrubhumi launches Delhi edition

New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) Malayalam daily 'Mathrubhumi' today launched its Delhi edition by presenting the first copy to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

With this, the oldest newspaper of Kerala has 13 editions, including four outside the state -- Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi.

Mathrubhumi's Chairman and Managing Director M P Veerendrakumar, who is also a Lok Sabha member, presented a copy of the 22-page daily to Dr Singh at the Prime Minister's residence at 7 Race Course Road here.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh expressed the hope that the edition would meet the need for a greater Kerala presence in the national capital.

Among others present on the occasion were Defence Minister A K Antony, who was earlier Kerala Chief Minister, Minister of State in the PMO Prithviraj Chavan, CPI leader D Raja and prominent journalists.
