Manhunt for news reader's murderers
Vijayawada, Feb 12 (UNI) The city police have launched a hunt for those involved in the murder of a news reader Lakshmi Sujatha, a top police official today said.
Speaking to newspersons here, City Police Commissioner C V Anand said three special police teams have been formed to nab the culprits. Some vital clues were obtained and the case being investigated from all angles.
Two persons, including a supervisor of the lodge where Sujatha's body was found, were taken into custody by the police for questioning.
The police had intensified searches on lodges during nights as the city was a transit point for criminals.
Sujatha was found murdered in a lodge here on Saturday. The murder came to light when the police found the body in a pool of blood with stab injuries on the neck, wrists and spine.
After arriving in the city, she reportedly went to the lodge following a phone call from two men, aged around 30, who had checked into the lodge in the early hours of Friday giving fictitious names, addresses and phone numbers to the hotel manager.
They disappeared later.
Meanwhile, the two-wheeler parked in front of the lodge by the accused on Friday was seized by the police today.
