Karnataka Legislative Council adjourned
Bangalore, Feb 12(UNI) Karanataka Legislative Council was today adjourned without transacting any business due to a lack of quorum.
Main opposition Congress, which is demanding election to Council Chairman post, stayed away from the House.
Only eight members were present when the House assembled and the officiating Chairman N Tippanna, before adjourning the house remarked that state-wide bandh called by various organisations in protest against the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal might have resulted in members failing to reach the House in time.
Though Home Minister M P Prakash, Medical Education Minister V S Acharya and Health Minister R Ashok were present in the house, none of the Congress members, who had been stalling the proceedings for the last eight days, turned up forcing adjournment of the House for tomorrow.
