Irate students torch principal's jeep, police open fire
Madhepura, Feb 12 (UNI) Enraged over the non-issuance of admit card, examinees of Intermediate today torched a jeep of the principal of a local college and ransacked his office forcing the policemen to open fire in the air to control the mob.
District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar said hundreds of examinees got agitated when admit cards were not issued to them at Madhepura college and they torched principal's jeep besides damaging the college property.
Police resorted to open fire in the air to control the unruly mob of students, he added.
The students also created disturbances at three other examination centres and snatched the answer papers of the examinees.
He said that the normalcy had been restored at the examination centres following the cancellation of examinations of the first sitting of the day at four centres of the district while steps had been taken to ensure smooth conduct examinations.
