International airport by March 2008: Governor
Hyderabad, Feb 12 (UNI) The new Hyderabad International Airport will become fully operational by March next year, Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur said today.
Delivering the customary address to the State Assembly on the opening day of the Budget Session, he said, ''55 per cent of the work is over and it (airport) will be operational by March 2008.'' The expansion of airports at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Puttaparthi would be immediately taken up and a Memorandum of Understanding for development of airports at Kadapa and Warangal was reached with the Airports Authority of India, he said.
The techno-economic feasibility for promotion of greenfield airports at Nellore, Ongole, Ramagundam and Tadepalligudem would be taken up simultaneously, he added.
