HC issues notices to Centre, states on foeticide informers

Chandigarh, Feb 12 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notices to the Centre as also to the state governments of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Union Territory administration for May 12 on a PIL seeking monetary rewards for informers regarding cases of female foeticide.

The petitioner, advocate H C Arora argued before the Division Bench of Chief Justice Vijendra Jain and Justice Rajive Bhalla that the schemes of monetary reward to infomants are already being successfully run by Customs, Excise and other departments.
