Gold eases, silver steady
Mumbai, Feb 12 (UNI) Gold today eased by Rs 15 per ten gms on weak global advices even as Silver remained steady on the Bombay Bullion Exchange on moderate demand.
Standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) resumed the week on a low note at Rs 9,525 and Rs 9,575 per ten gm on thin buying support.
Later, the yellow metal drifted lower and closed at Rs 9,520 and Rs 9,570 per ten gm with a loss of Rs 15 each from its Saturday's close.
In London, the yellow metal also fell at USD 661.80/665.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 664.00/667.00 per troy ounce in New York on Friday.
Silver fineness also opened low at Rs 20,215 per kg. It improved on better buying support and closed at Saturday's level of Rs 20,240.
In London, the white metal was quoted downwards at 13.77/13.80 per troy ounce against USD 13.85/13.88 per troy ounce in New York.
Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 20,240 (20,240), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,520 (9,535), Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,570 (9,585).
