Curfew clamped in MP town
Indore, Feb 12 (UNI) Curfew has been clamped in three police station areas of Indore city following clash between members of two communities.
''Curfew has been imposed in Chhatripura, Pandrinath and Malharganj police station areas,'' Inspector General Rajendra Kumar said.
After a woman was eve-teased by two youths at a cloth dyer's shop, members of two communities clashed over the issue in Mukeripura area.
Police lobbed teargas shells and resorted to mild cane charge to disperse the violent mob engaged in arson, stoning and rampage. Some people were injured during the incident.
Several shops were damaged during ransacking and arson, while some vehicles were set on fire.
Tension has cropped between members of two communities several times in the past month.
Prohibitory orders were clamped in these police station areas following an argument at Karbala ground during Muharram recently.
