Congress coordination committee discusses election strategies
Panaji, Feb 12 (UNI) The Congress Coordination Committee meeting, chaired by AICC general secretary Margaret Alva, today discussed strategies for elections to the State Legislative Assembly in May this year.
The meeting was held at the official residence here of Chief minister Pratapsinh Rane.
Party sources said the meeting did not discuss the GPCC demand for sacking Ramakrishna Dhavilkar, cooperation minister and lone representative of the MGP in the cabinet, for his ''unsavoury'' observations eulogising the erstwhile BJP rule.
Asked about the opposition leader Manohar Parrikar's demand for putting on hold the four approved SEZ's for want for transperancy in allotment of land to them, Mr Rane advised the opppsition to seek any information related to the subject by invoking the provisions of the Right to Information Act with impunity.
Meanwhile, the south Goa MP Churchil Alemao was understood to have conveyed to Ms Alva his decision to quit the party soon.
He had recently been slapped with a show cause notice by the GPCC for his alleged anti-party activities.
